Terms of Service

AskCarl provides AI-assisted vehicle screening and decision support to help UK used-car buyers make more informed purchasing decisions. The service is available at askcarl.co.uk, with an optional Telegram interface for eligible account features.

AskCarl is a vehicle-screening and decision-support tool, not a guarantee. Its advert checks and car files use available advert information, official MOT evidence, source-backed vehicle knowledge and asking-price data. AskCarl is not a regulated financial adviser, provenance-check provider, vehicle inspection service or insurer. Always complete your own due diligence, including a physical inspection and independent history check.

• Your first 3 advert checks are free with no credit card required
• After your free advert checks, a one-off payment of £12.99 opens a 30-day search, with a car file for each serious candidate and a fair-use allowance of up to 30 new advert checks in any rolling 24 hours
• When offered for a selected car, a one-off £4.99 opens that car file and its updates for 7 days; it does not add advert checks or car files for other cars
• Paid evidence updates, seller-reply, viewing and offer assistance are subject to a fair-use allowance of up to 60 requests in any rolling 24 hours
• If a marketplace blocks AskCarl before an advert check is produced, that attempt does not use one of your 3 free advert checks
• This is not a subscription; there are no recurring charges. A paid access period ends automatically
• If you buy another pass before yours expires, the new 30 days are added to your existing expiry; you never lose days you've already paid for
• Payment is processed by Stripe
• Prices shown at checkout include applicable taxes. There are no delivery charges or optional extras added by AskCarl

Paid AskCarl access is supplied as a service. Before AskCarl opens Stripe Checkout, you must accept these terms and expressly request that access starts immediately during the statutory 14-day cancellation period. You also acknowledge that the statutory right to cancel can end once a service has been fully performed.

If you exercise a statutory cancellation right before full performance, the law may permit a proportionate charge for service supplied at your request before cancellation. AskCarl gives you a simpler, more generous contractual promise: if you are not happy, email hello@askcarl.co.uk within 14 days of purchase and we will refund that purchase in full, including where some or all access has already been used. This promise does not reduce any statutory right.

To cancel or request a refund, give us the email used at checkout and enough information to identify the purchase. We will acknowledge the request by email and return an approved refund to the original payment method. Access may end when a purchase is refunded.

You may use AskCarl for personal, non-commercial car buying decisions. You may not:

• Resell or redistribute AskCarl advert checks or car files commercially
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
• Use the service to harass or deceive sellers

AskCarl does not promise that an advert is accurate, a seller will respond, a vehicle is roadworthy or that every defect, cost or provenance issue will be found. You remain responsible for the purchase decision and for using an appropriate independent inspection and provenance check.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, AskCarl is responsible for foreseeable direct loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill; we are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.

If access, a report or a payment is wrong, email hello@askcarl.co.uk with the account email, the car or order concerned and what you would like us to put right. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within 2 working days and give a substantive response within 10 working days. We may need longer for a provider or payment investigation and will explain if so.

We may update these terms for future use or purchases. The version accepted at checkout continues to govern that purchase. If a proposed change materially affects active paid access, we will explain it before it takes effect and will not reduce your existing consumer rights without your agreement.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protection or right to bring a claim in the courts available to you.
